Build Your Agentic Software Factory

Build a personal software empire with agents that work for you

With Hugo Bowne-Anderson & Eleanor Berger

Turn Ideas into Working Software with Background AI Agents

This course is for anyone who wants to build, whether you already write software or have never written a line of code. You might want to create something for yourself, turn an idea into a product, improve how your team works, or explore what is now possible.

Over two weeks, you will set up an agentic software factory: a system where agents work continuously in the background to build software for you. You will learn to describe the outcome you want, provide the necessary context and constraints, and define how the result should be checked.

You will start by building a simple utility that you use through conversation. You will then extend the same approach to a working web application and learn how to publish or share what you have built. Along the way, you will create a practical way to see what your agents changed, what they did, and what they learned.

You will leave with a working application, a repeatable way to delegate and verify work, and your own personal software empire – without needing to write or review every line of code.

What you'll learn

Get Your Factory Running
  • Set up the agent system locally or in the cloud with clear guidance
  • Understand the key parts of the setup you need to operate confidently
  • Use the strongest models available without tying your workflow to a single provider
Delegate Outcomes, Not Code
  • Describe outcomes, context, constraints, and clear definitions of done
  • Turn an idea or business need into specifications that agents execute reliably
  • Delegate implementation without needing to supervise every technical decision
From Conversation to Working App
  • Start with a conversational utility that performs a real, valuable task
  • Extend your utility into a working web application around your own information
  • Scale the approach into tools for your team, workplace, or business
Verify What Your Agent Built
  • Define exactly what you need to see before you trust the result
  • Inspect working artefacts and behaviour instead of reviewing every line of code
  • Request structured reports showing what changed, what ran, and what was created
Publish, Share, and Scale
  • Move from a personal prototype to an application others can use
  • Learn the practical path to hosting, sharing, and maintaining your build
  • Leave with a repeatable build process ready for your next project or venture

Who This Course Is For

Builders & Non-Coders
For product managers, designers, founders, operators, and professionals with ideas for software who want to build without writing code.
Hobbyists & Domain Experts
For independent builders and domain experts who want to create useful applications for themselves, their community, or their workplace.
Developers & Engineers
For software developers who want to delegate at a higher level, build prototypes rapidly, and stop supervising implementation line by line.

Prerequisites

No coding experience required
You do not need to write code. You should be comfortable giving clear direction, reviewing results, and managing a team of agents.
Local or cloud machine for your factory
Run your factory locally or in the cloud. Setup instructions are provided for Hermes and similar agentic environments.
Access to strong agentic AI models
Access models via API or subscription. Both open models and proprietary frontier models are supported.

What could your software factory build?

An agentic software factory can be shaped around an idea from your work or personal life. Bring any practical, ambitious, or playful concept — build a working version, then add features as it grows.

Team & Customer Operations
Manage contacts, projects, internal workflows, access, status updates, and automated reporting.
Research & Publishing Systems
Collect sources, synthesise findings, manage review stages, and publish reports, newsletters, or web portals.
Online Products & Micro-SaaS
Build authentication, user data, automated workflows, third-party integrations, and background agent services.
Custom Learning Platforms
Organise reference material, interactive exercises, progress tracking, and group feedback loops.
Family & Community Intranets
Coordinate shared calendars, documents, travel plans, projects, collective knowledge, and private utilities.
Hobby, Collection & Travel Tools
Plan itineraries, recipes, gardening schedules, collections, and interactive challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an agentic software factory?

It is a system where AI agents work continuously in the background to build software from goals, context, constraints, and checks that you define.

Do I need coding experience?

No. The course is designed for builders with or without a software background. You need an idea, sound judgement, and a willingness to test what the agents produce.

What will I build during the course?

You will begin with a conversational utility, extend it into a working web application, and then build something useful for a team, workplace, or community.

Does my factory need to run on my computer?

No. Your factory can run locally or in the cloud. We provide setup instructions and support before the course begins.

Can I take this course if I am a software engineer?

Yes. Software developers will learn to delegate at a higher level, verify results systematically, and spend less time supervising implementation line by line.

What happens if I can't make a live workshop?

All live sessions are recorded. You will have full access to recordings and workshop materials to catch up at your own convenience.

Can I get reimbursed by my company or enroll as a team?

Yes. Maven provides reimbursement receipts, expense email templates, and certificate of completion. Teams of 2 or more receive a 20%+ discount, and dedicated private cohorts are available.
